GoLookOn Advertising Policy

GoLookOn has established the following guidelines to govern advertisements that appear on this website. GoLookOn has sole discretion in interpreting and enforcing these guidelines, and has the right to update and amend this policy at any time. Advertisements on GoLookOn are described as "Banner Ads" and "Sponsored Ads", and these terms are defined in detail below. GoLookOn reserves the sole right to determine an advertisement's adherence to these guidelines, and if at any point an advertisement is found to be in violation of these guidelines then it will be removed from the site.

General Information

• All advertisements that appear on GoLookOn are paid for by entities separate from GoLookOn. GoLookOn does not endorse any product(s) or service(s) that are advertised in any Banner Ad or Sponsored Ad.
• Banner Advertisements on GoLookOn are independent from site content. Banner Ads will always appear at the top of any page, outside of the GoLookOn content area. Selection of Banner Ads to be displayed happens automatically and without any regard to the GoLookOn content that is displayed.
• Sponsored Advertisements will appear within the GoLookOn content area in two areas: Categories and Search Results. The Sponsored Ads displayed within these two areas are selected by the category and search keywords that were chosen at the time the Ad was purchased, and these advertisements will be clearly labeled as "Sponsored Ads" to distinguish them from GoLookOn site content.
• GoLookOn information providers have no prior knowledge or control over which advertisements will be displayed in conjunction with specific site content.
• Users of GoLookOn will be able to distinguish between advertisements and site content by (a) The advertisement appearing outside of the site content area, or (b) The advertisement within the site content area will be clearly labeled as a "Sponsored Advertisement" to distinguish it from the site content.
• All advertisements on GoLookOn will be truthful and factual, will not be designed to mislead or deceive, and will be in good taste.
• GoLookOn has no responsibility or control over website content that is linked to by an advertisement. If an advertisement links to a site that is external to GoLookOn, that site is maintained by persons over whom GoLookOn has no control and will adhere to its own policies and not the policies of GoLookOn.
• Links from Advertisements must link to a website, and may not contain links to email addresses or files (e.g., images, audio, video, or documents) which require an external viewer to open or run.
• Links from Advertisements to external websites must work. If any advertisement is found to have a URL that is invalid then it will be removed from the site pending verification of the link.
• Links that refer to external websites will open in a new browser window. If a link for an Advertisement refers to a page within GoLookOn then the existing browser window will be used.
• GoLookOn reserves the right to decline or remove any advertisement from the site at any time.

Banner Advertisements

• Banner Advertisements will adhere to design size guidelines. All banner ads displayed on GoLookOn will be exactly 600 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall.
• Banner Advertisements are rotated on a fair and unbiased basis. The banner ad to be displayed is selected by determining which banner advertisement has not been displayed in the longest period of time. This selection happens automatically, and the algorithm that selects the banner ad has no knowledge or access to the content that will be displayed on the same page as the banner ad.
• Graphical elements contained in Banner Advertisements must be in "good taste" and may not contain any language or image that may be considered offensive to the community that will be viewing the site.
• Banner Advertisements may not be designed to trick or deceive a user into clicking on the Ad by appearing to be part of the site content or masquerading as a part of the user's browser or computer system.

Sponsored Advertisements

• Sponsored Advertisements are text advertisements that appear within Category and Search results. They will be clearly labeled as "Sponsored Advertisements" in order to distinguish them from GoLookOn site content.
• Sponsored Ad purchasers have the freedom to select any categories for their ad to appear within, and also to select a list of keywords by which ads will be chosen to be displayed within Search Results based on specific Search Criteria.
• Sponsored Advertisements are ordered within Category or Search results from top to bottom, starting at the most recently used advertisement at the top and working down in the order to the least recently used advertisement at the bottom. This system gives preference to more popular advertisements, while still maintaining a fair and unbiased rotation.
• Sponsored Advertisements will use standard punctuation and capitalization, and will avoid gimmicky repetition within the Ad text. Sponsored Ads will also be edited for proper grammar and correct spelling, and may not contain any language that may be considered offensive to the community that will be viewing the site.
• Sponsored Advertisement text will be concise and factual. Any Ad that is designed to mislead, deceive, or appear as site content will be prohibited.
• Displayed URLs on Sponsored Advertisements must accurately represent the URL of the website it is linked to. If a Destination URL is too long, a shortened version may be used. For example, if your link URL is http://www.books4sale.com/specials/back-to-school.html, the Display URL may be shortened to www.Books4Sale.com. The Display URL may not show a URL that is different from the actual destination, nor may it refer to a site that redirects the user to a different site.

Changes to this Policy

Please note this Policy will change from time to time. GoLookOn reserves the right to amend this policy at any time, and the date the policy was last updated will be stated clearly at the top of this policy.
